Girls in Gear
Coach with us
VOLUNTEER
Lead a session. Change a season.
Coaches are the heart of every ride. You don't need to be a cyclist — you need to show up, cheer loud, and help girls believe they can. We handle the curriculum, the bikes, and the training.
What coaching looks like:
- Weekend and after-school sessions, roughly 2 hours each
- A short orientation and a coach handbook before your first day
- A team of fellow volunteers — you're never solo
- Background check and safety training, all provided free
Coach FAQs
Do I need cycling experience? ›
No. Most of our best coaches hadn't been on a bike in years. Enthusiasm matters more than skill.
What's the time commitment? ›
One session a week during the season is plenty. Some coaches do more, but there's no minimum beyond your first commitment.
Is there a cost to me? ›
None. Training, materials, and your background check are all covered by Girls in Gear.
