I started Girls in Gear to provide an opportunity for young riders to explore their power, agency, and confidence — qualities they always have internally possessed and may only have needed the safe space we provide to explore.

When girls learn how to ride a bike, change a flat tire, or lead a group ride, they're also learning about their inner strength, self-reliance, and innate leadership potential. That way, riders can take the skills they learn on their bikes and apply them to their day-to-day lives with verve, tenacity, and pluck.
