Girls in Gear is continuously committed to creating safe spaces where all girls can be their truest, most authentic selves. Just ask Jesusa. When Jesusa first got to Girls in Gear this September, she had never been on a bike. Once she got going, she was scared to try without training wheels for fear of getting made fun of if she fell. Turns out, she did fall but the response was nothing like she anticipated. Now you can catch Jesusa riding around school with her friends, encouraging others to try new things (even if they seem scary at first).
PROGRAM COSTS
Beyond our no-question-asked scholarship policy, we are committed to keeping our registration fee low in order to ensure that everyone has a chance to ride with us. Your support will help support the program costs not covered by each registration fee.
Volunteer coaches
Coaches are the heartbeat of our program! Your donation will help support our enthusiastic volunteers and ensure they continue to have access to the best training, curricula, program supplies, and staff support.
program Gear
We collect used bikes from the community that then go to our bike shop partners. This way, we are providing a sustainable solution to scaling our program in a way that doesn't require constantly raising money for new bikes, utilizes the generosity of community partners, and finds homes for existing bikes.
