BRING BIKING

TO YOUR SCHOOL

Partner with us to build confidence, resilience, and life skills on two (three or four wheels). By bringing Girls in Gear to your school, you can give students access to a fun, supportive program that empowers them to navigate life with confidence - both on and off their bikes. We handle the curriculum, bikes, and training; you provide the space to thrive.

Four girls with helmets standing outdoors near a lake, smiling and holding hands, with another group of children in the background.

When Juana and her mom abruptly left Uruguay, they left behind everything familiar - family, friends, their home, and belongings. Arriving in the United States, her mom searched for a way to help Juana adjust, make connections, and hold onto something she loved. That’s when she found Girls in Gear.

At first, the transition was tough. Juanita didn’t speak English and the first few sessions were overwhelming. But thanks to kind coaches, patient teammates, and her own determination, she kept showing up. And then something shifted. Eight weeks later, Juanita found her stride and wrote us a sweet note to prove it.

Her favorite things about Girls in Gear - community, courage, and connection - exactly what our program is all about. When girls are welcomed with open arms, they don’t just learn to ride; they discover belonging, confidence, and resilience.

OUR MILE MARKERS

  • Since 2021, we’ve grown to serve thousands of girls across eight states and Washington, DC - and we’re still growing. This national expansion highlights our deep commitment to reaching more girls, more families, and more communities every year.

  • Equity is at the heart of our work. Over 50% of riders receive support in the form of financial scholarships, bikes, or helmets - ensuring that cost is never a barrier to participation.

  • Representation matters. 61% of our participants, 48% of our coaches, and 59% of our staff and board members identify as people of color. Our programs are powered by and reflect the communities we serve.

  • We’re donating more bikes and helmets than ever before, thanks to increased partnerships and community support - putting safe, high-quality equipment directly into the hands of girls who need it most.

  • We significantly expanded our Glide to Ride clinics, helping more first-time riders find their balance and build confidence on two wheels - all in a single, joy-filled day.

  • We launched all-new curricula, most recently Club GiG and Camp GiG, designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s girls - from our youngest riders to teens navigating new challenges. Our programs continue to grow alongside them.
